I'm Okay

So this is my third day into a 2D Design class, as well as my first real college art class, and I'm really happy working. I wasn't so yesterday because I had confused feelings--I couldn't believe I was happy (I realize now that it's mostly guilt and a form of needing to feel malcontent to feel like I was working). But it's possible! Making art for a living seems like such a wonderful and satisfying experience that I was unhappy yesterday because it didn't feel "serious" enough...or not as miserably serious as dull business classes--this is great! 
I truly belong here, goddammit

Brewing Excitement

This entire week I have focused on enjoying this slice of summer with some cross-stitch embroidery. I embroider while watching a lot of documentaries and films on our little sofa. And this week's heat wave has made it impossible to enjoy a visit to the park. 
Another important thing I have focused my efforts is working on my summer comic. I've organized and paneled out 24 pages (about 3/4 of the script). I think that in the entire process of creating a comic, it's the paneling that is the most arduous and painstaking for me, gah.

Painting...

I failed at speed painting XD
So I just worked as long as it took to finish painting this from a pretty reference photo.

Frustration.

Agghhhh, why is my artwork so terrible and dull? 

Must practice, practice, cry about it, practice, and practice some more.
